This week has been excellent! There are all kinds of things growing and blooming around the house and garden. The dining room is so close to done we can smell it. (Literally–the finish on the floor is quite pungent.) Demi Lovato put out a new video, in which she looks like a total babe. I now have evidence that once in a while Lexi isn’t a total pain in the butt. It’s a roller coaster that only goes up, y’know?! Seriously. I’m way too happy as I type this up, but I am very okay with that.
We have at least four rose bushes on our lot–one by the porch steps, and three or four in the backyard–and while I’ve never been a fan of plain ol’ red roses, the varieties we have are so cute! It’s always exciting to see a new bush start budding and wondering what color they’re going to be. One of them is even orange. Orange! But I think my favorite is tied between those light pink ones above and the sort of hot pink ones by the porch, which were the first ones I noticed.
We also went to the used bookstore, someplace I don’t go nearly as often as I should, on Wednesday evening and I found a good looking copy of Youth in Revolt. I honestly only watched the movie because Michael Cera was in it, but I ended up being relatively amused. Since I’m reading two or three other books I already, I haven’t really started it, but I indulged in a bit of the first page and enjoyed what I read, so I’m excited to get to it eventually. I really need to stop into that store more often, sometime when I have a long while to look instead of just half an hour or so.

“It’s Friday; I’m in Love” is a (mostly) weekly gratitude post. It aims to remind myself and others of the good things from the past week, big and small; to share ways to make the next week a positive one; and to serve as a record to look back on for the not-so-great days to come. The title comes from the song by The Cure.
